Claudio Caruso ist ein versierter E-Bassist und Kontrabassist mit fundierter Ausbildung und umfassender Bühnenerfahrung. Er spielte in zahlreichen nationalen und internationalen Bands und wirkte an vielfältigen Studio-Projekten mit. Mit der Band Psychonauts, die Psychobilly und Rockabilly kombiniert, absolvierte er erfolgreiche Europatourneen als Support für namhafte Grössen der Szene wie Mad Sin, Batmobile, The Flintstones, The Klingonz, Demented Are Go und The Meteors.
Darüber hinaus stand Claudio mit "The Arhoolies" als Vorband von Sinéad O’Connor und The Stranglers auf der Bühne und erreichte mit der Formation "The Wild Bunch" mehrfach die Finalrunden bedeutender Bandwettbewerbe.

Claudio Caruso is an accomplished e-bass player and double bassist with sound training and extensive stage experience. He played in numerous national and international bands and participated in various studio projects. With the band Psychonauts, which combines Psychobilly and Rockabilly, he completed successful European tours as support for well-known greats of the scene such as Mad Sin, Batmobile, The Flintstones, The Klingonz, Demented Are Go and The Meteors.
In addition, Claudio was on stage with The Arhoolies as an opening band of Sinéad O'Connor and The Stranglers and reached the final rounds of important band competitions several times with the Wild Bunch formation.

In den 1980er Jahren stieg ich als Schlagzeuger in die renommierte und gefeierte Basler New-Wave-Band „The Wondergirls“ ein. Im Anschluss prägten mich vor allem meine Engagements bei den Basler Rockbands „Trashcats“, „Bo Katzmann“ – wo ich zudem an der Gründung der Band „Soul Cats“ beteiligt war –, „Twang Gang“, „The Feelgood Factor“ sowie „The Moondog Show“. Mit diesen Bands realisierte ich zahlreiche Radio- und TV-Produktionen, darunter das bekannte DRS3-Format „Uf dr Gass“, und spielte auf unterschiedlichsten Bühnen – von intimen Clubshows bis hin zu großen Open-Air-Festivals. Darüber hinaus wirkte ich an zahlreichen Album- und CD-Aufnahmen mit verschiedenen Bands und Musikern mit.
Neben meiner Tätigkeit als professioneller Schlagzeuger leite ich seit 1983 mit großer Leidenschaft die „Drumshop und Schule“ in Allschwil. Dort biete ich nicht nur individuellen Schlagzeug-unterricht über alle Genres hinweg – von Rock und Pop über Funk bis Heavy Metal –, sondern auch gezieltes Bandcoaching an. Mein Anliegen ist es, meine langjährige Erfahrung fundiert weiterzugeben – ganz praxisnah und direkt „von Drummer zu Drummer“.
In the 1980s I joined the renowned and celebrated Basel new wave band "The Wondergirls" as a drummer. In addition, I participated in numerous album and CD recordings with various bands and musicians.
In addition to my work as a professional drummer, I have been managing the "Drum Shop and School" in Allschwil with great passion since 1983. There I not only offer individual drum lessons across all genres - from rock and pop to funk to heavy metal - but also targeted band coaching. My concern is to pass on my many years of experience in a well-founded way - very practical and directly "from drummer to drummer".
